Thanks
for trying out the
Word
Code 128 add in.
To use, first you need to turn off auto correct in Word. You can find
these functions by going to Tools->Auto Correct.
The add in has been installed to your default Word Startup Folder. If you have changed your default start up folder, you will need to rerun the installer and browse to the new startup directory. To use the add in in any document first open the document. Then select the text you want to be a barcode and go to Tools->Create Code 128 Barcode. (Word 2007 & 2010 users go to the Add Ins tab and select Create Code 128 Barcode.) Or, after selecting text right click the text and select the Quick Barcode menu. Template Based Barcode Creation Is Here! To use template based barcode creation, surround the template field that needs to be barcoded with the following tags: [C128]<<field>>[/C128] (there is a menu item to do this for you.) Then, after creating a document from the template, run the Auto Create Barcodes menu item. All text between the [C128] tags will be converted to code 128. This also works with any types of merges, including a mail merge from any data source. If you're exporting from a template into a Word compatible file, you can configure this add in to automatically search for [C128] tags when opening all files, saving you from manually having to run the macro upon opening the document. If needed, you can even set the macro to automatically print the document after creating the barcodes. Once the export is complete and word opens the file, it can essentially do everything for you, including printing the document. A number of options are available to make creation easier. Within the options dialog you may set the barcode size (either standard or large), the point size of the generated barcode, a well as caption font, size, and formatting options for floating barcodes.
Then,
print it out and test it!
A WORD ABOUT WORD: Word auto correct WILL mangle the barcode data. You may need to turn off the Word autocorrect functionality. This can be found by opening Word and choosing Tools->Auto Correct in the menu. \Microsoft's pages about the Word auto-correct feature can be found here: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/HP051896921033.aspx Not seeing a barcode? This can happen if you have not rebooted your computer or were not logged in as administrator when you installed the fonts. If you have not rebooted, please reboot now. If you have and it has not helped please download the font only zip file below. Extract the file and, for XP users, open the font file in control panel and drag in code128bwin.ttf and code128bwinlarge.ttf. For Vista users, extract the files, right click on "code128bwin.ttf" and select install. Do the same for "code128bwinlarge.ttf." Then, restart the computer. Download: Code 128 Font Files Only
